Like the early settlers and the Native Americans of the region, you can paddle the Hocking River, stopping at little islands and sandbars and even occasionally pulling into an observation spot to view the people on the zip-line canopy tours. Hocking Hills Canoe Livery rents canoes, river rafts and kayaks as well as plans your route, fits you with life vests and arranges for a picnic lunch for you to take along. A group is considered to be at least 10 people, and if you have 20 or more folks, your group leader---the one responsible for all the paperwork---is free. You may choose a beginner's trip, a full-day tour with a guide or even a moonlight paddle. Whatever trip you select, you will be dropped off upstream so you can have a leisurely float back down to your car or, should you choose to spend the night, to your deluxe cabin.

Fly through the treetops, over the river, past ancient caves and skirt by the rocky cliffs on a canopy zip-line tour through the forests of Hocking Hills. Your group will be driven up a mile-long scenic trail to the first platform, known as Mighty Oak. From there you will embark on an airborne journey that involves 10 zip-lines, 5 sky bridges and an exciting rappel back down to the ground at the end of the trip. Group rates are only offered Monday through Friday. For the truly adventurous, there is also a Superzip side trip that reaches speeds of 50 mph.
