Three cruise lines offer cruises from Florida that visit Athens, Greece. The cruises all depart from Fort Lauderdale and dock at Piraeus—the main port of Athens. The cruises are quite lengthy due to the great distances they are traveling and periodically sail for several days at a time before reaching land.

World Voyage

Two World Voyages are available from Fort Lauderdale. Cunard offers a 93-night World Voyage segment aboard the Queen Elizabeth, which ends at Southampton, near London. Holland America Line offers a 110-night round-trip cruise from Fort Lauderdale aboard the Amsterdam. The cruises visit ports in the Americas, South Pacific, Asia and Africa before arriving at Piraeus and visits several other ports in the Mediterranean. Both cruises also cross the International Date Line.

Grand Africa and Mediterranean Voyage

The 62-night Grand Africa and Mediterranean Voyage aboard Holland America Line's Prinsendam sails round-trip from Fort Lauderdale. The cruise makes stops on several islands in the Caribbean before visiting ports along the coast of Africa and Europe. The Prinsendam visits several ports in the Mediterranean, including Athens, then Spain and Portugal before heading back to Fort Lauderdale. The cruise ends with seven consecutive nights at sea.

Mediterranean Grand Adventure Cruise

Princess Cruises offers two 27-night Mediterranean Grand Adventure cruises. The Ruby Princess sails from Fort Lauderdale to Venice, while the Star Princess sails from Fort Lauderdale to Rome. Both dock in Athens near the end of the journey. The Star Princess also visits ports in Egypt. Each ship is at sea for at least the first six days of the cruise crossing the Atlantic Ocean and at least four more days during the remainder of the cruise.
