Things Recycled Out of Metals

Recycled metal has many uses.

Almost all metals can be melted down and formed into some type of high quality metal and their uses are nearly endless. From your microwave, pie pans and hammer to the bridges you cross and the art that adorns your walls, recycled metal is all around us and we use it everyday.

Aluminum Cans

Aluminum cans are commonly recycled.

By throwing your aluminum into the appropriate recycling bin, more aluminum can be made by re-melting the metal. There is no limit to how many times aluminum can be recycled. Filing cabinets, soda cans, aluminum foil, pie pans, small appliances, electronics and home fixtures can all be made out of recycled metal.

Steel

Bridges are often made of recycled steel.

Steel is made of a great deal of recycled metal and is one of North America's top recycled materials according to The Steel Recycling Institute. Recycled steel is used for building a structures such as bridges, barns, train railways and buildings. Hammers, wires and other tools are also made out of recycled steel.

Art

Art sculptures can often be made of recycled metal.

Recycle metal can be used for art in many creative ways. Jewelry can be made by melting and shaping metal into something new. Vehicle parts can be used to make chunky industrial-looking things. Artists using recycled materials are able to create beauty and help the environment at the same time. Ornaments, sculptures, statues and furniture can all be made from recycle metal.
