Advantages of Using a Laptop

Save

Most homes and business have computers and are online. In an age where everything moves at a faster pace, and technology has advanced, the demand of large desktop computers has shrunk. For similar reasons that people prefer cell phones over land lines, laptops have become popular. There are several advantages of using a laptop.

Mobility

  • A laptop can be used just about anywhere in the world. Many places even have Internet connections for the public. Laptops can be used in other countries, on the beach, or in a tent in your back yard. With a long enough battery life, work can be done over the course of several hours. One of the best features of a laptop is that it can connect to a user's office desktop computer. New technology lets users connect their desktop to their laptop from remote locations. With a smaller RAM laptop, memory space can be saved by connecting to a desktop. This is a great tool that benefits the average person and businesses. It's like having a desktop PC right in your lap everywhere you go.

Fewer Connections

  • One of the best advantages of using a laptop is that there are fewer connections needed to get set-up and running. This means that low-tech people who find it difficult to turn on a DVD player can use a laptop. The only plug needed is the one plugged into a power source to charge the battery. However, sometimes batteries sometimes can be used without worry about a cord. Laptops are fuss and hassle free. They take up so much less space compared to a desktop computer. A desktop has several cords that run like a maze through the back of the computer, monitor, mouse, keyboard, Internet, etc. Laptops have solved several complexes of life for many people.

Time Saver

  • Another advantage to using a laptop is that less time is spent staring at a screen and working than spent on a desktop. Laptops require less time transferring files. Before laptops, many people would have to save and transfer files by emailing them to themselves so they could access the files from any location. This may have worked well, but there was always the uncertainty if a computer and Internet would be available. With laptops, all documents are in one place and it saves time from bouncing back and forth from home computer to work computer, and to school computer to find files.
