During the Christmas season many people enjoy decorating their front yards with light displays. It is common for people to decorate trees and shrubs with colored lights that can be seen all over the neighborhood, but with some creativity you could turn your outdoor Christmas lights into something that really stands out from your neighbors' displays. Thanks to advances in technology, anyone can have a professional-looking light display. In many cases, a good light display is just a matter of the lights you use and where you use them.
If you have ever seen Christmas light displays on television that are synchronized to music, you may have wondered how it is done. You need a computer, a Christmas lighting computer program and the lights to make your Christmas lights dance to music. Anyone can create a own computerized light show if they have the right equipment and guidance.
Companies such as Light-O-Rama offer computerized lighting kits to help you make your own Christmas light show. Light-O-Rama is just one of the many companies sell computerized lighting kits and will help set them up.
LED Programmable Lights
For many years, Christmas light strands have been available with a primitive controller that allows the lights to blink or chase at the flip of a switch. LED technology allows anyone to program chase patterns, allow the lights to change color and create a simple light show that is energy-efficient. LED lights can be programmed to rapidly change color or gradually switch from one color to the next. Dozens of chase patterns can be programmed into them as well.
Rather than scattering outdoor Christmas light displays all over your lawn, focus on a theme to make the display more appealing. For example, you could create a Santa Claus theme and use lighted displays that feature different aspects of Santa Claus. You could put a lighted Santa Claus and his reindeer on your roof and several lighted Santa Claus figures on your lawn. You can set up a Santa Claus figure at your chimney that can be lighted on Christmas Eve to create the illusion that Santa is sneaking into your chimney. Other themes include lighted candy canes and snowmen.
