Geometric Construction Projects
Geometric construction projects are a fun way to learn about geometry. By its very nature, origami is a geometric form, and paper shapes are a good way to start learning about geometry. For more useful projects, construct picture frames, display shelves or even jewelry boxes using one or more basic geometric shapes as the primary design.

Origami Projects
-
Origami is an Asian art form. Most people are familiar with the art of origami, where a piece of paper is creased and folded into the remarkable resemblance of a three-dimensional animal or object. These constructions are geometric in nature, and rely on precise mathematics to achieve the many shapes available.
'Slide-Together' Geometric Designs
-
Slide-together designs are geometric shapes, such as spheres, that are constructed out of numerous pieces of folded paper. In some ways, these designs are similar to origami, but they are generally confined to producing a basic shape rather than rendering an actual object.

Frames and Shelves
-
Rectangles are the most common shape for shelving. Picture frames and display shelves can add a new dimension to a room. Use unusual shapes, such as octagons or triangles. One example would be a series of stacked triangles that connect together to form an appealing design on the wall. You could even design tabletop shelves or boxes in geometric styles, such as a multilevel octagonal-shaped shelf.
Landscape Designs
-
Geometry is a part of landscape design. Geometric patterns are well-suited to the layout of your landscaping. Garden paths could be designed in a grand design, and you could even adorn your yard with a gazebo featuring six or more equal sides.
PVC Projects
-
PVC is a good material for geometric construction projects. The couplings are molded at precise angles, allowing the pieces to be put together in any of thousands of geometric patterns. Large-diameter pipe can even be used for constructing geometrically precise play and exercise equipment.
