The Back Porch has been a favorite for Destin locals since 1979. The two-story restaurant enjoys a prime waterfront location overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. End-to-end windows are opened during the warmer months to allow the ocean breezes in, and an extensive wrap-around deck and picnic tables offer opportunities for al fresco dining.
The menu is extensive with seafood and American comfort foods as the stars. Select from an assortment of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and po boys as well as seafood, pasta, beef and poultry entrees. Popular choices include twin lobster tails, shrimp and crab linguine and blackened chicken. A children's menu is available.

The atmosphere at Rum Runners is as fun and lively as it can get. The exterior looks elegant and sophisticated with oversized windows and a large patio for dinner or cocktails. Step inside and your senses are assaulted with hand-painted murals, furniture in all of the primary colors and a bar at the heart of it all. Live music and entertainment is available most nights, and the bar serves a late-night menu for those looking for a bite to eat with their cocktails.
The menu features appetizers, soups, salads and sandwiches as well as beef, seafood and poultry entrees. Popular dishes include lobster ravioli with red peppers in a cream sauce, jerk chicken with an orange-mango glaze and filet mignon with a bleu cheese cream sauce. Reservations are not accepted after 7:00pm.

Acme Oyster House

Acme Oyster House first opened its door in New Orleans' French Quarter in 1910. It took the restaurant 100 years to get there, but in 2010 it had four locations throughout Louisiana and one in Sandestin, Florida. Fresh hand-shucked oysters are the star of the show at Acme, and you can get them on the half-shell, char-grilled, fried, in a remoulade or a po boy. The menu also features a choice of appetizers, sides, po boys, boiled, fried and grilled seafood platters or one of the house New Orleans specialties. Customer favorites include crawfish etouffee, jambalaya with sausage and chicken and seafood gumbo with shrimp and crab. Reservations are suggested.
