In addition to being able to take classes from home, Georgia locals can also take advantage of lower in-state tuition when they enroll in courses at Georgia virtual technical colleges.

Atlanta Technical College

The Atlanta Technical College is an accredited college that offers 80 different programs of study, including skilled trades, health and human services, and information technology programs. Individuals interested in applying for admissions must be at least 16 years of age. As of February 2010, anyone interested in completing a degree program must have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must also have taken the ACT or SAT no more than 5 years prior to applying for admissions. A non-refundable application fee of $15.00 is required and the average quarterly tuition is $514.00 with financial aid and veterans' aid available.

Central Georgia Technical College

Central Georgia Technical College offers degree and certification programs in business, health, and public services. There are also a variety of trade and industrial programs available for individuals seeking professional licenses or certifications. Individuals attending high school in Georgia have the option of taking classes through the Central Georgia virtual campus while they are still enrolled in high school.
New students can apply online after paying the non-refundable $15.00 application fee. Individuals seeking admittance into a degree or certification program must provide copies of high school diplomas, GEDs, or prior college transcripts. Applicants must also provide either SAT, ACT, or CPE scores or be willing to take COMPASS placement tests in order to be admitted. Upon acceptance, individuals enrolling in the virtual college must complete the Online Orientation Agreement Form before starting classes.

DeKalb Technical College

DeKalb Technical College has several programs available, including Applied Science Associates Degrees and the Technical Certificate of Credit. Applicants must provide the college with copies of all diplomas and transcripts and have satisfactory test scores on the SAT, ACT, and/or ASSET. If these tests have not been taken or are not satisfactory applicants will be notified by mail and will be required to take the COMPASS test, which assesses applicants' English and Math skills.
In order to attend DeKalb Technical College, applicants must pay a $25.00 application fee. After being accepted new students must pay a quarterly registration fee and an access fee. Financial aid is available for students who meet school and state qualifications.
