Stamped Birthday Card Ideas for Kids
Save money and express your creativity by designing your own birthday cards for children. Use image and text rubber stamps and vibrant inks sold at stamping, scrapbooking and craft stores to produce a design that not only evokes the birthday theme, but that also reflects the recipient's favorites and interests.

Birthday Background
-
Give a blank, premade greeting card an instant birthday motif with a cake, candle or present rubber stamp. Create a birthday card in primary colors, for instance, by coating a birthday cake rubber stamp with yellow ink and pressing it in random spots on a blank, white card. Use stamp cleaner sold at a stamping, scrapbooking or craft store to remove the leftover ink from the stamp before repeating the process with red and blue ink.
Create the child's name on a strip of white card stock that's at least 2 inches shorter and narrower than the card. Use alphabet rubber stamps and the yellow, red and blue inks to add the name to the card stock, alternating the colors as an eye-catching affect. Affix the strip to the center of the card with a glue stick or double-stick tape.
Numbers
-
Make a stamped card featuring the child's age, particularly if you're creating a card for a milestone birthday. If the birthday girl is turning 5, for example, buy a card stock No. 5 die cut at a scrapbooking or craft store. Use a tiny "5" rubber stamp and stamping ink in the recipient's favorite colors to generate assorted No. 5 at different angles on the die cut. Use a glue stick or white glue to affix the die cut to the front of a blank, folded greeting card.

Themed Images
-
Design a stamped kids' card that reflects the child's favorites or the theme of the birthday party. If the child is having a pirate party, for example, press a rubber-stamped image of a treasure chest onto the center of a blank card using brown ink. Add tiny birthday-related stickers or stamped images such as a cake, balloons, gift or candles atop the treasure chest image so they appear to be sitting inside the chest.
If the birthday honoree loves animals, stamp a row of zoo animals across the front of the card and use a small birthday hat stamp to customize the animal images to suit the birthday theme.
Dimensional Accent
-
Produce a simple card with a deluxe touch by stamping a birthday-related image such as a present, bunch of balloons or cake onto a piece of white card stock. Cut the image out with sharp scissors or a craft knife. Affix the accent to the front of a blank card---positioned 1 inch down from the top and centered left to right---with dimensional foam tape sold at scrapbooking or craft stores. Use a "Happy Birthday" text stamp to apply the birthday greeting across the bottom of the card.
