Christian Valentine's Day Crafts for Kids
Valentine's Day is rooted in a story about a Christian saint, Saint Valentine, who was martyred in Rome in the year 270 A.D. Incorporate his story and the basic fundamentals of Christian faith in the crafts created by children for this holiday. This will not only give the holiday a deeper meaning, but allow you to teach the ideals and ethics of Christianity at the same time.

Valentines For Jesus
-
Remind the children that Valentine's Day is a day to share your love for your family and friends the way that God shares His love with everyone. Have the children use construction paper to create valentines for their friends and family, including on each a favorite quote from the Bible about love. Have each child then create a special Valentine for Jesus to express their love for Him.
Patron Saint
-
St. Valentine was the patron saint that Valentine's Day is named after. An almond tree is said to be planted near his grave in Rome, which symbolizes love and friendship. Using construction paper, pipe cleaners, fabric and stickers, have children create their own version of an almond tree. These can then be hung around a classroom or on a refrigerator as a meaningful Valentine's Day celebration.

Tissue Roses
-
Roses are the traditional flower of Valentine's Day, so have each child create a bouquet of roses using red tissue paper and green pipe cleaners. A pinnacle of the Christian faith being serving others and helping those less fortunate, have the child then distribute the tissue paper roses as a local children's hospital or homeless shelter. Tie a note to the bouquet with a favorite Bible quote about love to wish the recipient a happy Valentine's Day. This will likely be a bright spot for lonely people who were not expecting to receive any valentines at all.
