Elephant Pencil Holder
-
The elephant pencil holder is a safari craft that kids will love displaying on their desk. It's an easy craft to make. All you need are googly eyes, construction paper and an old soup can with glue and colored markers. Glue construction paper around the soup can. Kids will come up with some wacky color combination; don't inhibit them. Let them draw ears and a trunk and glue them on. Once it dries, kids will have a pencil holder to hold all those colored markers.
Clothespin Giraffe
-
Giraffe are majestic creatures of the African plains. Children can create an entire family of giraffes with some cardboard and a few clothespins. Paint the spots with along a cardboard oval and the pins with orange paint. The oval serves as the body with the pins attached as the legs and the neck. Create a smaller oval for the snout of the head. Don't forget to draw on eyes. When the giraffe is finished, kids can create cutout trees for the giraffe family to stand among and dine on.
