Tandoor Palace

Set in the heart of Cologne, Tandoor Palace has a pleasant atmosphere and a menu featuring North and Central Indian dishes. The restaurant prides itself for serving up only authentic Indian recipes. Come during lunch hours (noon until 2:30 PM) for the popular lunch buffet, served each day aside from Saturday. Also, be sure to try something cooked in the restaurant's namesake and highlight: its charcoal fired tandoor.

This restaurant located near the Barbarossaplatz offers a daily changing menu of basmati rice dishes, daals, raita, and various desserts, all prepared in Ayurvedic style. The friendly owners boast a purely vegetarian selection, cooked with a heavy dose of positive energy. This elderly stalwart of Cologne's Indian restaurant scene has been serving up traditional Indian dishes since 1979. A key indicator here is the restaurant's popularity among the city's Indian residents. The atmosphere is friendly and warm while the North Indian dishes served here are only as hot and spicy as you request.

Kamasutra

This centrally located restaurant offers a splendid environment, attractive decorations, quick service, almost sixty different wines and, of course, superb Indian cuisine. While the prices aren't quite rock-bottom, Kamasutra delivers in high-value fashion. Customers may call ahead or book reservations online (at least one to two days in advance).
