Play Easter games with your students.

Whether it's time for your class Easter party or you just want to play some Easter games in the days leading up to the event, knowing a few preschool Easter games will keep your students occupied. Preschool students may not have the coordination to play some of the traditional Easter games played by older kids--such as a relay race with the egg on a spoon--so design some games that are more fitting for their skill level. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Egg Hunt

    • The egg hunt is a classic Easter game. You simply hide plastic Easter eggs around the classroom or outside and let students find them. Put prizes inside and let the students keep the prizes. Another way to play this game is to have all students look for eggs of a particular color, but have them leave the eggs where they are. This makes it more challenging and allows the preschoolers to practice their colors.

Pin the Tail on the Bunny

    • Create a large paper bunny without a tail and hang it on the wall. Then, give each student a cotton ball. When it's her turn, the student wears a blindfold and tries to tape the cotton ball where the bunny's tail should be. Traditionally, you would spin the student around several times, but not all preschoolers will want to do that.

    Eggs in the Basket

    • Students attempt to throw plastic eggs into a basket that you're holding. To make this game more challenging, you can lift the basket higher or swing it around, so that the preschoolers are aiming at a moving target. This game helps preschoolers develop their motor skills.

    Bunny Bunny Rabbit

    • Students sit in a circle. One student walks around the circle, touching each student's head and saying, "Bunny." When she says "Rabbit" instead, the student who's head she was touching must get up and chase her around the circle. You may want to allow running, but you can also have the students hop around the circle, like a bunny.

    Bunny Hop Relay

    • Students form teams and queue up at a line on the floor. The first student in each line holds a basket and, on a signal from the teacher, hops to the other side of the room, where there are a number of eggs. The student picks up an egg and puts it in his basket, then must hop back to his team, keeping the egg in the basket the whole time. This game helps preschoolers with their balance.

    Jellybean Guessing

    • Place a number of jellybeans in a container and have students try to guess how many beans are inside. Because preschool children may not be able to count very high, you should use a small container.
