More battles of the Civil War were fought in Virginia than any other state, from the first battle at Manassas in 1861 to Lee's surrender at Appomattox in 1865. "On to Richmond" was the call of the North early in the Civil War, as they intended to quickly overtake the Confederate capitol. It would not be that easy of course. The On to Richmond tour offers three tour packages that include one or two night stays at a Richmond hotel, meals and admission to museums.
