Historic Hotels in Tampa, FL

Tampa is a Gulf Coast city located in Hillsborough County, Florida, and part of the Greater Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Area. The region is home to several historic hotels that offer accommodations in completely refurbished historic buildings, offer quality amenities, and provide good value for the area. These hotels were built during the late 19th and early 20th centuries when Tampa experienced a boom from its cigar-making industry. This boom peaked in 1929 with the stock market crash and the start of the Great Depression. Most of the buildings from this period have been destroyed but several of the historic hotels from this period still stand.
