Pegboard Games
Pegboard games were widely popular in homes, taverns and schoolyards in the 19th century, and date as far back as Ancient Egypt. They consist of a wooden base filled with holes and pegs that are moved around the game board. Many are thought of as brain teasers, and require critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Tic Tac Toe
-
Tic tac toe is a basic but popular pegboard game. The pegboard version of tic tac toe is a game of strategy and chance for two players. Players take turns placing their pegs in the holes to create a diagonal, horizontal or vertical line of three pegs in a row, while trying to block the other player from doing the same.
Strategy
-
Strategy uses critical thinking and problem solving skills. Strategy is a game for one player. A triangular or circular wooden game board provides the base for this game and has 17 holes but only 16 pegs. The game begins when you use a peg to jump over another peg into the open hole. After removing the jumped peg, you continue the process, trying to jump over and remove as many pegs as possible before you are no longer able to jump. The goal is to have one peg remaining on the board.

Pegs and Jokers
-
The joker card sends another player's peg back home. Pegs and Jokers is a family game for ages seven and up and two to eight players. This game of chance is similar to the board game Sorry. Each player has a home base and a specific color of pegs. Cards are drawn, determining the number of spaces a player moves his peg. When a player draws a joker, he sends another player back to his home base. The first player to move all his pegs around the board and back home wins the game.
