  1. Georgia Aquarium

    • The Georgia Aquarium opened in downtown Atlanta in November 2005. Created through a $250 million donation from a co-founder of Home Depot, Bernie Marcus, the Georgia Aquarium attracts over six million visitors each year. For parents seeking an unusual party venue, the aquarium offers a themed children's birthday party program. The parties are for 90 minutes, accommodate groups of 15, and are created around one of four themes (pirates, deepo, island, or ocean). Included in the party package are birthday party invitations, aquarium admissions, birthday cake and ice cream, themed party gift bags, and free parking for one car. The party also includes an animal encounter, and either a "behind the scenes" tour or a visit from the aquarium mascot. The aquarium also supplies a party coordinator who will manage the party, and also lead party games so that parents can relax and enjoy themselves. Parties must be reserved in advanced, and a non-refundable deposit is required when making the reservation.
