Deadliest Catch Game Cheats
"The Deadliest Catch" is a runaway hit on the Discovery Channel that attempts to show the world the dangers of King Crab fishing and the people that do it. Because of its popularity, the channel released a game called "Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm" in February 2008, for the Xbox 360 and PC platforms, that tries to replicate the conditions of the actual hunting in game form. While there are no direct cheats for the game, there are programs that you can download to your PC that will help you along (see Resources).

PC Saved Game

A PC saved game cheat is a program containing a presaved game that someone else has already played and beat. That person offers the file to you so that you can install it and play through any mission that you want in the game. Unlocked are all missions, videos, and the Northwestern Tour, which you get once you beat the game normally. This doesn't make the game any easier, but it does allow you to skip past missions that you simply can't beat.
To install the saved game cheat, simply download the file (see Resources) and extract the program. Once that is done, find where the actual game is stored on your hard drive, and place the extracted saved game into that file. Next, open the game, go to the main menu and select "load game," and your new file with all of the missions and tours will be on there for you to play.
PC Trainer

A trainer for your PC is similar to a saved game cheat in that it is a program that you download and run. The difference, however, between a trainer and a saved game is that a trainer runs independently of your game, while a saved game overwrite the game's actual programming. The trainer for "Deadliest Catch" allows you to obtain 999,999 money, 1,000 pots, refill gas tank, 100 percent crab cargo, 9,999,999 crabs caught, no bumps, and kill timer--all very useful tools.
To use the trainer, download the trainer (see Resources) and extract it to the game folder on your hard drive. Load the game so that you are in the main menu. Once there, press the "Alt" and "Tab" keys simultaneously to close the game window for a moment. Navigate your way to the folder that you extracted your trainer into and open the trainer file. As soon as it's open, you simply have to click one or more of the numbers on your numerical keypad to load the cheat:
1: 999,999 money
2: 1,000 pots
3: Refill gas tank
4: 100 percent crab cargo
5: 9,999,999 total crabs caught
6: No bumps
7: Kill timerThen reactivate your game window by pressing "Alt" and "Tab" again. Keep the trainer program running until after you've closed out of the game, however, because if you close it, you will lose the cheats for the game.

Xbox Achievements

Another tip for "Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm," specific to the Xbox 360 version of the game, is to achieve all of the gamer-score points to unlock extra content or bonus material for both your Xbox and your "Deadliest Catch" game. The achievements are varied in objective and difficulty. Some are very easy--watch all of the videos, for instance, in the Virtual Tour to unlock the Northwestern Scholar achievement, which gives you 15 gamer-score points. Bringing up a full pot of crab gives you the Money in a Cage achievement, which also gives you 15 gamer-score points. However, other objectives are more difficult--you must beat the High Seas Rush mission in under two minutes to receive 75 points. If you finish a Crowded Harbor mission without any collisions, you also get 75 points. There are an even 1,000 gamer-score points you can achieve (see Resources).
