Show your love for Halloween with easy to make outdoor decorations.

Halloween is an enjoyable holiday for adults and children alike. If you like celebrating the holiday, turn your home into a spooky haunted house or make it cute and festive. There are many decorations that you can easily create to decorate the outside of your home for Halloween. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Ghostly Pumpkins

    • Pumpkins are certainly a sign of the Halloween season. This year, instead of carving your pumpkins with spooky faces, turn them into ghostly orbs with paint. Use white craft paint to paint the entire pumpkin white. Allow it to dry. Finish off the look by adding ghostly and ghoulish faces on the pumpkins with different colors of paint. Place them on your front steps, or use them to line your walkway. To show them off at night, place a spotlight on your lawn and direct it at the pumpkins.

    Creepy Black Tree

    • Place a creepy black tree at your doorstep, complete with spiderwebs and ravens. To create this decoration, forage for two or three large tree branches in the woods. Paint the branches with black spray paint. Purchase a large, plain bucket or a plain flower pot from a home supply store, and fill it with sand or topsoil. Insert the black tree branches into the bucket. From a party supply store, purchase fake spider webs. Use the webs to cover the dirt or sand in the bucket, allowing them to drape onto the ground. In addition, stretch the webs throughout the tree branches. Complete the look by perching two or three fake bats or black ravens on the branches; these can be bought at a party supply or craft store.

    Witches' Broomsticks

    • Line your walkway or the front of your home with these cute witches' broomsticks. To create this decoration, you will need eight to 10 brooms with straw bristles; black and orange spray paint; purple and orange outdoor lights; and an outdoor extension cord. Stand the brooms up on your lawn by pushing the handles into the ground. The bristles will be on top. Fan out the bristles and use the spray paint to paint them in alternating purple and orange. Wrap the broomsticks with the outdoor lights, beginning at the top so that the plug is near the ground. If you'd like, wrap the purple painted brooms with purple lights and the orange painted brooms with orange lights, or you can wrap them in opposite colors. Plug the lights in to one another so that each will receive power. Use the outdoor extension cord to supply power to the lights.
