Cruising is a great way to get to Mexico

Mexico is a popular cruising destination. Mexican cruises depart from various ports in the United States, including Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and Tampa, Florida, and Mobile, Alabama and San Diego, California. Because Mexico is so close to the U.S., many cruise lines offer three-and-four day weekend cruises there, allowing enough time to explore some of the country's must beautiful and desirable resort areas.

    • Carnival Cruise Lines features value-priced getaways to Baja California. Cruises to Baja depart San Diego and Los Angeles and go to Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas.     • Royal Caribbean sails weekly from Miami and Ft. Lauderdale to Cozumel, Mexico. Cozumel is an island off the mainland and is best known for its white sand beaches and abundant marine life. There are many living reefs off Cozumel, making it ideal for snorkel and SCUBA diving. Royal Caribbean ships feature rock climbing walls, fine dining and full-service spas. The ships have excellent children's and teen's programs, as well as a casino and live entertainment for adults. Staterooms offer 24-hour room service and televisions.

    • Carnival Cruise Lines offers four-day weekend itineraries to Cozumel from both Mobile and New Orleans. Cozumel is a picturesque island off the coast of Mexico. Visitors to Cozumel are charmed by its white sand beaches and crystal blue waters. Carnival ships are popular with families, singles and couples and offer many amenities, including movies, live entertainment, art auctions and casinos. Staterooms feature hair dryers and closets.
