For ghost hunters and thrill seekers, Baltimore can be an interesting destination to seek out ghouls and spirits. The home of the final resting place of Edgar Allen Poe, the area provides plenty of creepy and macabre attractions for people looking for a good scare. The Baltimore area even offers a few hotels that will allow you to keep your hunt for ghosts up long after dark.

  1. The Admiral Fell Inn

    • Located in the waterfront village of Fell's Point, rumor has it that a death occurred in Room 413 of this historic hotel. Since then, hotel staff have reported feeling as if they're not alone in the room even when they think they are. Managers also report that during a storm in which the hotel had been evacuated completely, footsteps and muffled voices could be heard coming from the floors above.

    Radisson Lord Baltimore

    • A member of the staff at this hotel claims that while she was preparing a meeting room on the 19th floor she was visited by a little girl wearing a dress and shiny black shoes who was playing with a red ball. When the staff member approached the girl she disappeared. Around the same time, she saw an older couple in formal attire who also vanished when she approached them. Guests have also reported being awaken by cries of a little girl only to open their eyes and see her sitting in their rooms.

The Wayside Inn Bed & Breakfast

    • A short drive from Baltimore, The Wayside Inn Bed & Breakfast is located in Ellicott City. Known as the "house with the candles in the windows," many people assume that the candles are placed there by spirits that haunt the house. One myth is that the mother of a soldier who occupied the house during the Civil War lit the candles and planned to keep them lit until the solider returned. The solider never came home and the candles have been burning ever since.
