Edible Dog Gifts
Dogs love treats, so it's obvious that one of the best gifts you can give a dog is something edible. Edible dog gifts can come in various forms and use innovation and creativity. You can either create your own edible dog gifts using common conventional dog treats, or you can find a specialty shop with endless possibilities.
-
Dog Cake
-
A dog cake is a completely edible cake that looks just like a cake that humans would eat except it's made specifically for dogs. A dog cake is typically flavored with beef and will satisfy an entire meal.
Doggy Bag
-
A doggy bag is basically a gift bag that you create yourself with various dog treats. Simply use a paper bag and fill it with some of the best doggie treats available.
-
Dog Beer
-
There is beer specifically made for dog consumption. The beer is non-alcoholic and isn't harmful to the dog. It is formulated so that dogs will like it and has a slight beer flavor. This gift commonly comes in a six-pack and can be found at specialty dog supply stores.
Fortune Cookies
-
An Asian company makes fortune cookies for dogs. The cookies come in a traditional Chinese food container and don't contain a fortune so you don't have to worry about the dog choking.
Homemade Treats
-
Find recipes to make your own homemade dog treats. You can decorate the cookies to look like dogs and include the dog's name on the treats for an added custom touch. Homemade treats can be made in any shape you want so you can make some that look like cats, squirrels or the dog's owner.
Ice Cake
-
Create an ice cake for a dog to enjoy on a hot day. Take two 9-inch round cake pans and fill them with water just below the rim of the pans. Place random dog treats in the water and stick the pans in the freezer. Once the water is completely frozen, remove the ice from the pans and stack them like a cake. The ice cake can be served on a plate. Allow the dog to lick the ice and eat the treats inside.
Gag Gift
-
Use an old medical kit case and place a sign on the front of the kit that says, "Dog's survival kit." Fill the kit with bacon bits, a chew toy and a sign that says, "No cats allowed."
