Ogunquit is a small coastal town in Maine that's known for its beautiful ocean scenery and a paved footpath called the Marginal Way, which winds from Oarweed Cove to Ogunquit Beach. Swimming, fishing, boating and kayaking are popular activities in town, as are golf, hiking and biking. Ogunquit also has all kinds of restaurants, from the very casual to the highly upscale.

      Jonathan's Ogunquit is not only a restaurant. It also presents numerous and varied live shows and events, such as a Valentine's Day Dance, Jonathan's Wine Dinner and appearances by such performers as Suede, Tom Rush, Judy Collins and Susan Werner. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, with an emphasis on organic, locally grown foods. The lamb, vegetables and fruits served are often grown or raised on the restaurant's farm in South Berwick, Maine. The menu features a variety of seafood and also dishes like Mediterranean pasta made with lamb sausage, shallots, mushrooms, garlic and tomatoes; porterhouse steak; grilled rib-eye; and chicken piccata. Draft and bottled beer, wine and cocktails are served.

      The Front Porch has both a dining room and a lounge piano bar. The menu is eclectic, featuring appetizers like tempura fried shrimp, Jamaican jerk ribs, beef spring rolls and lobster soup, while the entrees include fish and chips, pork chops, hamburgers, and macaroni and cheese. There are also several kinds of specialty sandwiches, such as the Maine lobster roll and Sloppy Joes. You can also get fish tacos, lobster risotto and nachos made with black beans and jalapenos. Meals are served in both the dining area and the larger lounge area. The Front Porch is closed Monday and Tuesday, but is open for dinner every other day of the week.

      Oarweed is a casual-dining restaurant serving lunch and dinner. It's open seasonally, from the beginning of May through Columbus Day weekend. Located right next to the ocean, it keeps its own lobster pound. Not surprisingly, the menu features many seafood and lobster dishes, like crab cakes, clam chowder, steamed clams, shrimp cocktail, lobster rolls, boiled lobster and salmon salad. You can also get baked stuffed potatoes, rice pilaf, salads, chicken sandwiches, a grilled cheese and even a veggie burger. Oarweed offers red and white wines and champagne, along with domestic and imported beers, cocktails and international coffees. Desserts on the menu include blueberry, raspberry and apple pie; strawberry shortcake; pudding; cheesecake; and ice cream sundaes.
