Free Archery PC Games
Archery is an ancient sport that involves the use of bows and arrows. While historically archery was used for hunting and survival, in modern times archery is more likely to be used in sport hunting and target shooting. Archery requires concentration, steady hands and precise aim, making it a difficult sport to master. However, there are many archery games online for those interested in trying out archery without devoting a lot of time to learning this obsolete sport.

"Bow Chief"
-
"Bow Chief," from at Defense Online Games, is a competitive game where you try to hit an opponent with your arrow. Each arrow that hits your enemy saps his health. The first player to get his opponent down to zero wins. You can play against the computer or against a friend.
The game involves controlling the angle and power of your shot. Click on the screen to set your angle and drag the mouse away to set your power. The further you drag the mouse, the more power your shot will have. The control scheme can be awkward at times, as you cannot adjust your aim once you have set it
"Sherwood Shooter"
-
The folk hero William Tell was renowned for his archery skills. His most famous achievement was shooting an apple off his son's head to save both of their lives. Defense Online Games' "Sherwood Shooter" recreates that famous shot. The game is set in the medieval period and you play an archer who must shoot an apple off the head of a robot. If you miss, the head explodes. (The graphics are pretty advanced for a free game, so this game may not be appropriate for younger children).
Gameplay is simple. Move your mouse up and down to control your angle and hold the left button to increase the power. If you hit the apple off the head, the distance is increased and you must compensate by changing your angle and increasing your power.
"Deer Hunt"
-
One of the most common uses for a bow and arrow is for hunting, especially deer. "Deer Hunt," available at Hunting Net, gives hunters a chance to practice from the comfort of home. This game features a first-person interface. Your bow and arrow are visible on-screen for aiming. Deer march across the screen from three positions: 10 yards, 20 yards and 30 yards. Each deer has a target painted on its kill zone. Hitting this zone will drop the deer and win you points. If you miss, however, you lose points. You have 60 arrows and 50 deer to shoot. Running out of arrows will end the game. To play, move the bow with your mouse and hold the left button for power. Release the button to shoot the arrow.
