Different Kinds of Chrome Rims
Chrome rims are made of steel alloy with a chrome finish which makes them look mirror-like and shiny. These rims are arguably the most popular car tire rims among car enthusiasts because they are both sturdy and good-looking. There are many kinds of chrome rims designed to fit different vehicles in various weights, sizes and design styles.

Weight Rating
-
Trucks, vans, sports utility vehicles (SUVs) and sedans all use different kinds of rims. There are also different kinds of chrome rims for various weight ratings. When choosing chrome rims for your vehicle, you must take into account the rim's weight rating capacity. If the capacity of the rim is lower than your gross vehicle weight (GVW), i.e., the weight of the vehicle fully loaded with passengers, gas and cargo, then that rim will lower the safety of your vehicle as its loaded weight could distort the rim and in turn cause damage to the tire, wheelwell and/or brake system. Buying chrome rims with a weight rating capacity higher than your vehicle's GVW will ultimately cost you more since chrome rims with higher GVW ratings are pricier.
Size
-
Another way to differentiate different chrome rims is by their size. The right size of rim for your vehicle is easy to determine as it is based on the size of the tires on your vehicle. Every tire has the size series printed on it. This size series will tell you what the wheel and rim sizes are. If this number is not visible, then remove the tire from the rim and measure the bead of the tire. The bead of the tire is the inner circle which sits on the rim. Larger chrome rims, such as 26 inch rims, will fit either bigger tires, like those of a truck, or lower profile tires on a small vehicle. Most people like to have a bigger rim with a lower profile tire to enhance the style of their vehicles.

Brand

Different manufacturers make different sizes, shapes, styles and designs of chrome rims. These brands also differ in price. For instance, BZO makes a triple-plated chrome rim using a high gloss chrome which produces shinier, more mirror-like rims. Another brand is Katana which is marketed as being sturdier than other brands. Katana rims also come in unique designs that other brands don't offer.
