Dallas has several bars to let you get your fill of reggae.

Reggae is a genre of music with Latin, French and English influences. It has since become a staple in the Dallas music scene that people from different generations and demographics can enjoy. Dallas' best and most popular Reggae clubs are the Royal Rack Reggae Club Bar, The Palm Beach Reggae Club and Murphy's Place.

  1. Royal Rack Reggae Club Bar

    • The Royal Rack Reggae Club is offers a mix of Reggae styles, either of the live or DJ variety. It also features a pool hall and what is described as a really welcoming "neighborhood feel," which offers a refreshing change from other bars and nightclubs. Royal Rack Reggae Club bar is however a small place and has a reputation for getting hot during summer. Royal Rack is also a cash-only establishment.

    Palm Beach Reggae Club

    • The Palm Beach Reggae Club is a unique dance club and bar in Dallas that features not just reggae music and but also Caribbean food to boot. Both area and international reggae artists perform at the Palm Beach. The menu features appetizers such as fried vegetable sticks as well as cocktails that are unique to the club itself. Straw and palm trees litter the bar while murals of Bob Marley underscore the reggae atmosphere.

    Murphy's Place

    • Murphy's place is not your prototypical Reggae Club, if such a prototype even exists. Instead, Murphy's Place inserts its emphasis of African-inspired culture, cuisine and music into everything it does. Reggae music can be heard each and every Saturday night, which is specifically designated "Reggae Nite." One might also be able to catch reggae tunes, on an intermittent basis, Thursday "open mic" nights or Friday "Live Mix" nights.
