The Aurora offers 19 two-story suites with either one queen or two double beds, fully equipped kitchen, TV, movies and VCRs. Wi-Fi is available, and there is a complimentary laundry service. One suite is handicapped-accessible. The hotel is next to the Lazy Bear Café and around the corner from the Gypsy bakery. Tundra Buggy Adventures--an outfit that uses enclosed vehicles with big glass windows and huge tundra tires to take visitors in search of polar bears--is two blocks from the hotel. Room prices are highest during October and November, because this is considered the best time to see polar bears.

The Lazy Bear Lodge

For an authentic Northern experience, spend the night in a log cabin. Well, not exactly a log cabin, but a room designed to look like one. Each offers two double beds, private bath, cable TV with movies and Wi-Fi. The Lazy Bear Lodge has its own café--also in log cabin motif, with an oversized stone fireplace as the room's focal point. The menu is varied, offering anything from St. Louis-style Ribs to Maui-style cod, complete with coconut. Brave folks might try the Sirloin of Muskox. The Lazy Bear Lodge is next to the Gypsy Bakery, one long block from Hudson Helicopters and two blocks from Tundra Buggy Adventures.

Located at the northern end of Kelsey Boulevard, this property offers standard rooms, studios with kitchenettes and one-bedroom apartment-style accommodations.
