Haunted Bars in Minnesota
Ghosts often fascinate people, so it's no wonder that some flock to haunted locations. Haunted hotels and restaurants often attract just as many or more patrons than those that are not haunted. The state of Minnesota has several haunted bars that attract amateur ghost hunters and paranormal enthusiasts.

40 Club Inn

The 40 Club Inn, in Aitkin, Minnesota, has had rumors of hauntings ever since a young man named Tom committed suicide in an apartment above the restaurant in 1999. When Tom failed to report for work at the Inn, fellow employees went upstairs to check on him. They found Tom's body on the floor next to a bag of narcotics, the apparent cause of his death. Ever since, employees and patrons alike have experienced odd occurrences. The bar lights flicker for no apparent reason, televisions show static at random, and a radio turns on by itself. The strangest reported occurrence involves the jukebox turning on suddenly and playing a song that was played at Tom's funeral. The song has never been available on that jukebox. No one has entered Tom's apartment since his death.

Billy's Bar and Grill
-
Before becoming Billy's Bar and Grill, this restaurant was an unofficial brothel called the Jackson Hotel. The owner and madam of the establishment, Mrs. Jackson, is rumored to have died on the third floor of the building. Some say thieves murdered her and stole the profits from her brothel business. Others say she committed suicide by hanging. Employees have reportedly experienced pictures moving on their own, sightings of a shadowy woman peering from an upstairs window and sightings of Mrs. Jackson in the room where she died. Others report hearing strange, unexplained noises and seeing Mrs. Jackson walking through the restaurant on the ground floor.

Blackwoods Bar and Grill
-
This Two Harbors bar harbors more than just employees and patrons. In the early 20th century, the Blackwoods Bar and Grill's building was an orphanage. Rumor has it that a young girl living in the orphanage fell down a flight of stairs and died. Reportedly, the spirit of this little girl likes to make contact with long-haired women. The staircase remains in the building, as of 2010.
Another ghost allegedly dwelling in the Blackwoods Bar and Grill is a woman in a long, white dress. She appears as a transparent figure and then fades. She has been seen on the top floor of the building as well as in the dining room after hours, trailing her fingers across a table top. Other mysterious occurrences include unexplained footsteps and voices, as well as dishes falling randomly from shelves and hangers being shoved from side to side on the coat rack.Blackwoods Bar and Grill
