Superman Birthday Games
Set up different games for your guests to play during your child's Superman birthday party. Each game should tie into the Superman theme, even if you have to be creative and alter typical party games to fit in. Brush up on Superman characters, lingo and sayings before putting the games together. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Find the Kryptonite
-
Paint large rocks a glow-in-the-dark green, or fill lime green water balloons. Hide these items around the yard or house and ask guests to find the "kryptonite" so it can't be used against Superman. For older kids, count the pieces of kryptonite found to award whoever finds the most.
Pin the "S" on Superman's Chest
-
Use a poster or blown up picture of Superman, but black out the "S" on his chest. Make multiple copies of the "S" emblem on separate pieces of paper, decorated in color, for the kids to try to pin them in place. Whoever gets the closest wins.
-
Save Metropolis
-
Keep Metropolis safe by ridding the city of it's bad guys. Tape pictures of Superman's enemies to the fence, walls or wooden sticks to put in the ground. Give the kids green silly string, or use green water balloons, to take out the bad guys.
Secret Identity
-
Superheroes need a secret identity, including Superman. Fill a bag or suitcase with outrageous pieces of clothing or other disguises, such as wigs, hats, glasses and overcoats. Start playing the Superman theme song and ask the kids to pass the bag. When the music stops, whoever has the bag has to reach in and remove an item (without looking), then put it on. Take pictures of all of the superheros-in-hiding when the game is done.
Superman Training Academy
-
Organize a large obstacle course with age-appropriate obstacles for your Superman Training Academy. Include different elements of what Superman is known for, such as saving the world, leaping over tall buildings, saving a citizen, being faster than a speeding bullet and strong enough to bend steel. Have the kids move a large beach ball that's decorated like a globe from one spot to another, then jump over a small toy (like a doll house) or crate, save a stuffed cat or doll from a tree, run as fast as they can to bend a steel beam. Paint a flexible item, such as swimming noodles, gray to represent the steel. Award each child with a Superman certificate and cape once they have completed the training course.
Lex Luger is Loose
-
Designate one child to be Superman and another to be Lex Luger. The rest of the kids will be citizens. Lex Luger should try to tag the citizens to send them to a citizen holding center (designate a corner of the room or yard) while Superman tries to catch Lex Luger. If Superman catches Lex Luger, he wins and the citizens are set free. If Lex Luger gets all of the citizens, he wins. Let each child take a turn as Superman and Lex Luger.
