Air Traffic Control Schools in Georgia

This being said, residents of Georgia and surrounding states may be interested in pursuing a career as an air traffic controller, and there are several schools in Georgia available to attain that goal.

Central Georgia Technical College

The air traffic control and aviation program at Central Georgia Technical College is a two-year program. Central Georgia Technical College is comprised of just fewer than 4,000 students split nearly evenly between men and women. The College offers a diverse environment as 55 percent of students are black or non-Hispanic, 43 percent are white, and the remaining student population is Hispanic. Financial aid is offered for qualified students attending Central Georgia Technical College. Upon graduation, there are career counselors available.

Clayton State University

Clayton State University is a four-year public university located in Morrow, Georgia. Clayton State University offers aircraft mechanic, aviation systems and avionics undergraduate degrees. The college has approximately 4,500 students with more than 60 percent women and 55 percent white or non-Hispanic. Financial aid is offered for qualified students. The career placement center helps students find internships and entry-level jobs after graduation.

Middle Georgia College

Middle Georgia College offers an option for a four-year air traffic control program. In 2007 the college was named by the Federal Aviation Administration as the top new Air Traffic Collegiate Training program in the United States. Students attending Middle Georgia College study at one of only two schools in the United States that maintain simulations in hands-on air traffic control management. Additionally, Middle Georgia College uses cutting edge communications equipment within the national airspace system. Requirements for admission to Middle Georgia College include at least a 2.5 grade point average from high school or the transferring college, a copy of the student's birth certificate, proof of U.S. citizenship and a felony-free record.
