Cortland County Historical Society

The Cortland County Historical Society is full of archives from both the Revolutionary and Civil wars. Land records, pension data and rosters of military units are available. Some family genealogies and photos are also on site. The facility is adjoined with the Suggett House Museum and Kellogg Memorial Research Center. Together the three are an excellent place for those interested in researching the area's involvement in key American wars or for curious vacationers.

Finger Lakes Trail

The Finger Lakes Trail is an ambitious project in the state of New York that runs through the city of Cortland. The idea is to build a continuous footpath that crosses the entire state. The trail offers exposure to the natural beauty of the state of New York in an undeveloped setting. It may be accessed from several spots around Cortland. The trail is free and maintained by volunteers. Hiking on the trail is an opportunity to be a part of an original American project.

Greek Peak

Greek Peak is a mountaintop recreational center that offers a variety of activities. The primary outdoor activities include skiing or tubing down any of its many slopes. When necessary, Greek Peak makes its own snow. Indoors, Greek Peak provides additional activities. An indoor water park is kept at 82 degrees year round and provides several activities. A three-story tube slide, a wave pool and hot tubs are among the installations. Relax after a hard day of activity at the Waterfalls Spa, also located inside Greek Peak.
