Few restaurants rise to the level of widespread acclaim and distinction achieved by The Prawnbroker over the years. This seafood restaurant has repeatedly been named one of the best restaurants in Florida by Florida Trend Magazine. In addition to state-wide recognition, The Prawnbroker has received many top prizes in local Fort Myers restaurant competitions, including Taste of the Town. The restaurant opened in 1982 and has been a favorite with seafood lovers in particular. In addition to the restaurant, an attached fish market provides freshly caught fish that customers can take home and cook for themselves.

Saigon Paris Bistro

While seafood is a popular dining option for visitors, Fort Myers also offers exotic cuisine from other cultures. The Saigon Paris Bistro is an upscale French-Vietnamese restaurant finely decorated to provide an intimate ambience. The restaurant features a number of tableside-prepared dishes, such as crepes, prepared by a chef while diners watch. Reviewers from Gulfshore Life magazine were impressed by their visit to the restaurant, pronouncing the food delicious and the overall experience entertaining. Of course, the menu does include some seafood favorites, including smoked salmon and shrimp cocktail. But the main dishes favor classic French cuisine, including veal, lamb, steak, chicken and duck.

Blue Windows Bistro

A relative newcomer to the Fort Myers restaurant scene, the Blue Windows Bistro opened in 2006 and is the brainchild of Christian and Mari Vivet. Blue Windows is actually located in suburban Estero, which lies a short distance south of Fort Myers. The restaurant encompasses two dining rooms: the bistro/wine bar, which serves dinner a la carte Tuesday through Saturday, and an "underground" restaurant available to customers who are in the know (and you, too, since we've given away the secret). The bistro serves classic French cuisine, including such favorites as steak-frites, poached salmon, veau a la creme, veal sweetbreads and pork tenderloin in a port wine sauce.
