Chicago's Booth Graduate School of Business, founded in 1943, has long been considered one of the best graduate schools of business in the world. In 2009, U.S. News and World Report rated the University of Chicago's business school as the third best in the nation. It was concurrently rated as the second highest-ranking school of business by Business Week. The graduate school boasts an 87 percent placement rate for its graduates with most of those positions having been obtained by the time the student reaches graduation. Many of the students accepted to the school are currently working for or were formerly employed by prominent companies like Motorola, BP and John Deere.

Located in Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business has consistently been rated as a top-five graduate business school. Business Week rated the program third while U.S. News and World Report rated the program second among all programs for 2009. Wharton boasts an impressive list of students from prominent companies as Deutsche Bank, Deloitt Consulting, Motorola and J.P. Morgan Chase. The Wharton School has been the top-ranked business school four times since 1994. It too boasts a high placement rate of around 85 percent for students who graduate with the M.B.A. degree.

Northwestern University

Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management is considered by both Business Week and U.S. News and World report to be the best program in the world. The Kellogg School has a placement rate of 90 percent for its graduates and its students come from impressive backgrounds at companies like General Electric and Motorola. The school was founded in 1976 and has grown to become one of the best programs. Estimates indicate that graduates leaving school and returning to the business sector averaged starting salaries around $140,000 for 2009.
