    1. Breathless

      • Cut tissue paper into hearts and put them in a container or a bag. Separate the students into an even amount of students per group. Cut nonbendable straws into thirds or fourths, and give them to the students. The first student will pick up a tissue heart by sucking through the straw, then passing it to the next student. The students should pass the hearts to each other using only their straws until the last kid in line puts it into an empty bag or a container.

      Count the Ways

      • Fill a clear jar with Valentine's candy and write down exactly how many pieces are in the jar. Ask your students to write down how many candies they believe are in the jar. You can send the jar home with the winner or use the candies for math games.

      Valentine's Bingo

      • Make up bingo cards with Valentine's Day symbols or words. Print out or draw the symbols or words onto construction paper and mix them up in a paper bag. Pull one piece of paper out of the bag at a time until someone gets bingo.

      Heart Hunt

      • Cut out hearts from red or pink construction paper. Cut each heart in at least two pieces with a different "broken" pattern. The students can find their "match" or put the hearts back together like a puzzle.

      Cupid's Challenge

      • Make up small clues for each child to find another clue or make something small and easy. For example, one student might have the first clue, which will lead her to the next one. Once she finds the second clue, the next student has to read it and find the third. The very last student will find a box or a jar with some sort of treat, such as heart-shaped erasers, or candy for each kid.

Pin the Bow on the Heart

      • Make a large heart out of construction paper, and tape it to a wall where the children can reach. Each child should get a paper bow that he has to try to pin in the center of the heart, much like pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey.

      Stacked Hearts

      • Use conversation hearts to see who can stack the most hearts in a specified amount of time, such as 30 seconds. Whoever can stack the most, without the stack falling, wins.
