Games to Play on Xmas Day
Spice up your Christmas day celebrations with some quick and easy party games. Most Xmas day games don't even require you to go out and purchase supplies. Consider a gift exchange game or simply a lighthearted joke game that goes on throughout the duration of your party. Does this Spark an idea?

Santa Hat Game
-
This game plays like a Christmas version of "nose goes." You'll need enough Santa hats for everyone at your Christmas party. As your guests arrive, hand out the hats and have everyone put them on. The aim of the game is that everyone will gradually, throughout the course of the party, start to remove their Santa hats. The last person wearing a hat is the odd man out and "loses." If everyone goes into a mad rush and starts removing their Santa hats, then obviously it won't work quite as well. Play the game throughout the party, resetting each time someone loses for a running joke.
Yankee Swap
-
Yankee swap makes a nice alternative to your typical holiday gift exchange. Have each guest bring a wrapped gift and place it in the center of the room. Make sure to set a price limit, and make sure each person brings a gift that would suit pretty much anyone at the party. Randomly assign each person a number. In order, starting with number one, the players will pick a gift from the center of the room and unwrap each. Starting with player number two, each player will have the choice to keep the gift they unwrapped or force another player to swap. Player number one won't be left out of the swapping, though: after all the other players have gone, player number one gets final pick of who to swap with.

Family Tree
-
For a creative, kid-friendly game, have one adult who's a good sport stand in the center of the room. Supply the children at the party with various craft supplies to turn the adult into a Christmas tree. Consider strips of green construction paper to give him a more tree-like appearance. Use tin foil, shiny pipe cleaners, candy canes, stickers, felt and anything else you might have lying around as a suitable human Christmas tree decoration.
Secret Snowman
-
For this simple game all you'll need is a paper snowman and a piece of tape. Make one from construction paper or cardstock. Surreptitiously stick the snowman onto someone's back. Once they discover it, they'll have to get rid of the snowman by sneakily passing it on to someone else without notice. The game lacks winners and losers, but is sure to provide lots of laughs, especially for younger partygoers.
