Select an orange ball gown or evening gown. Sew or glue on pumpkin charms to the dress' skirt. Dye a pair of white gloves orange to match your dress. Wear your hair in a curly updo. Spray your hair well so it will stay up all night. Give yourself a glamorous makeup makeover. Put on sparkling orange costume jewelry and add a crown or tiara. Make a sash out of 4-inch-wide ribbon. Use a black marker to write “MISS Halloween USA” on it. Pin the ends of the sash together and wear it like a pageant sash. Carry a couple of index cards with you to the party. Write pageant questions on the cards, such as “What is your special talent?” or “What is your favorite charity?” Have cheeky answers ready to share.

Choose a sleeveless, floor-length sequined gown in red. Make two puff sleeves out of red silk fabric and elastic. Create a high red collar out of stiff material. Make a scepter with a red foam heart tip. Glue heart-shaped red stones to the tips of a crown. Add pretty makeup with bright red lipstick and slip on your red shoes. Get a friend to dress like the main character from "Alice in Wonderland." You will look regal as you shout, “Off with her head!”

Southern Belle

Put on a pink Lycra body suit with short sleeves and ruffled pink pantaloons for the first layer. Cover a premade pink hoop skirt with plenty of taffeta fabric and ribbons for the next layer. Browse old Civil War photos or watch "Gone with the Wind" until you find a hair style you like. Tuck a pink silk rose behind one ear after styling your hair. Add a straw hat with a wide pink ribbon around the brim. Wear a row of pink pearls with matching earrings. Carry a pink parasol and wear a light pink lipstick. Use your best Southern accent and use such phrases as, "Bless your heart" and “I declare.” Use “y'all" instead of "you" and "I'm fixin' to get something to eat" instead of "I'm about to get something to eat."
