Halloween is not just for children anymore. Many adult women are finding themselves recapturing their youth by dressing up for a night of ghouls and frights. There are several ways a woman can paint her face to hit the streets for a little trick or treating with the kids, or a night out on the town with a few more ghosts and goblins.

  1. Bride of Frankenstein

    • One of the most iconic silver screen monsters is the Bride of Frankenstein. This look can be achieved by placing a base of white Halloween makeup on your face. Emphasize your eyes with blue eye shadow and give yourself the frightened look by accentuating your eyebrows with black eyeliner. The eyebrows should point upwards at the end as well. Ruby red lips will finish your face. The most important piece of this look is the hair. Purchase a black wig or tease your own hair and add the white stripe up the middle, as featured in this classic 1935 horror film.

    Evil Witch

    • It is far more fun on Halloween to be bad rather than good, so go with an evil witch’s facade. For a bad witch, use green as your base and give your eyes a dramatic look by adding magenta, red or any other dramatic colors to your lids. Add emphasis to your cheeks by sweeping white face paint over the apples. Make your lips look ghoulish with a blue or yellow color. Don’t forget to add the wart to your nose. Finish the look off with a hat and black wig.

    Swamp Princess

    • Start by giving your face a dewy glow by covering it entirely with a light pink powder. Cover your eyes with a purple, turquoise or magenta color. Cover your lips in a deep purple, and give yourself flower petals on your forehead and around your eyes with an eyeliner pencil that matches the color of your lips. Highlight the tip of your nose, your forehead, and your chin with a pink blush color that is a few shades darker than your face. Finish the look by draping your head with cloth that has been dyed the colors of the swamp and sea; turquoise, sage green and a deeper, ocean blue.
