Obtaining a master's in business administration (MBA) is a popular career move that many people across the country are taking advantage of. There are three schools in Tampa, Florida, that offer MBA programs for people in that area who want to obtain this degree.

  1. University of Tampa

    • The University of Tampa offers three MBA programs. The programs are full-time student MBA program, part-time student MBA program and Saturday MBA program. While the University of Tampa MBA program does not require a specific undergraduate degree, students must have had an undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Required scores on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) vary according to the grade point average the student carries. A student with a 3.25 grade point average is required to have a 450 on the GMAT, while a student with a 2.75 would need to have a 550 to even be considered an exception to the required 3.0 grade point average. The program has been accredited by the Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.

    University of Florida

    • There are three MBA programs offered at the University of Florida: the traditional program that is full-time; the working professional program for individuals who prefer part-time and the EMBA Program, the executive and accelerated program. After submitting the application, potential students will schedule an admissions interview. The average score on the GMAT is around 670; however, the college will consider scores higher than 640 for the traditional program and higher than 560 for the working professional program.

    University of South Florida

    • The University of South Florida (USF) College of Business offers a master's of business administration to students with an undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0. The MBA program here also recommends two years of relevant work experience between undergrad and application to the MBA program and a score of at least 500 (out of 800) on the GMAT. The program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, which is the highest level of accreditation a business school can receive. Typically, there are about 400 students in the MBA program at USF with an average of 35 students per class.
