High School Spirit Week Ideas
High school spirit weeks bring together students, faculty, parents and alumni in supporting their school or athletic teams. A spirit week often ends with a big event, such as a dance or a homecoming football game, and includes several opportunities throughout the week for fundraising events, fun activities and games.

Fundraising Competition
-
An important part of school spirit week is fundraising. Money collected from fundraisers can help fund academic programs; athletic teams; music, art and theater programs and scholarship opportunities. Proceeds can also go toward funding class dances, proms or other student activities. Holding a fundraising competition between classes helps build spirit within each grade level, and benefits the entire school. All students are given a fundraising sheet and ask to collect donations from family and members of the community. The class that raises the most money for the school is the winner and a percentage of money raised goes toward a class-specific event such as a prom or senior class trip.
Battle of the Classes
-
Each day during spirit week, an assembly is held in the gymnasium. All students are required to attend and sit with their respective classes. Games and activities are played on various days, and each game is broken up into teams by class year. A scorekeeper keeps a tally of the points earned throughout the week, and the class with the most points at the end of the week is the winner. Games and activities are a collection of themes to incorporate all types of students. A mixture of athletic, academic and rare talents make the week fun for everyone involved and does not favor any particular category of student.

Show Your Spirit Day
-
Show your spirit day encourages students to wear school colors, including dyed hair, face paint or any type of expression related to the expression of spirit. Any normal dress codes should be suspended in recognition of appropriate school spirit apparel, such as wearing a school team hat in the classroom. Athletes or members of clubs that have their own clothing are encouraged to wear team uniforms or apparel to show the diversity of options available to students. Teachers are also encouraged to wear "spirited" outfits, showing unity between faculty and students.
Student Pep Rally
-
A student-led pep rally is an effective way to boost school morale before a big game. Instead of just the football team or just the "big sport" teams standing at the front of the pep rally, members of each sports team of the season are present and in uniform. Before the pep rally, captains of the teams meet with the principal or vice principal to ensure that teams stays under control and appropriate at all times during the assembly, but encourage students to have a fun time.
