Asymmetrical Hairstyles for Men
Men's asymmetrical hairstyles give an edgy fashion-forward look. Hair tossed over one eye now appears on runways and in boardrooms. The asymmetrical look may not ever become mainstream--that would destroy its individuality and attention-getting verve, yet it's no longer the exclusive domain of rock stars. Does this Spark an idea?

Short
-
Short asymmetrical cuts generally use long bangs, angled or shaped to give the cut panache. Layers and directions of the cut add dimension to short hair, and some styles push sections of the hair upward or outward from the scalp to add interest.
Hair extensions or color can make this an even more eye-catching look. This works on fine hair or curly hair as well as on hair with more body. These hairstyles work best with a product, such as sculpting gel.
Medium
-
A medium asymmetrical cut can go numerous directions. Variations on mohawks, spiky cuts, layered cuts and variations with bangs and pony tails all play with asymmetrical lines.
The medium asymmetrical cut attracts attention and takes more risk than a short cut. It's a youthful, fashionable form of self-expression. These cuts can be as extreme as cuts that expose tattooed scalps, or result in a polished hairstyle with bangs that nearly any man could wear to work. Men with all kinds of hair textures can wear medium asymmetrical haircuts.

Long
-
Long hair provides the opportunity for changeable asymmetrical looks. Part of the hair can be worn up, or looped from the crown of the head. Areas of the hair can be worn different lengths, such as shaved above one ear or tapered up the back of the neck. In some cuts for longer hair, the hair sweeps upward in a curve above the brow, in others, sleek wings frame the face.
Long hair allows for using interesting hair holders, such as styles used by martial artists to wear the hair in a club at the back of the neck. These styles sometimes include streaks of dramatic color to highlight the asymmetrical lines, such as a bright streak down the long side of the hair next to the face, with the other side of the hair spikes up short from the scalp.
