There are hundreds of different ways to wear your hair. The good thing about having medium to long hair is that you can experiment with all of the different hair styles that you'd like. With a few different hair products, you can have a variety of different looks.

Style your hair as you normally would, whether you prefer it to be straight or curly. For a smooth look: Divide your hair into two sections. Keep the top layer of your hair separated with a hair clip. Gently, pull the flat iron through sections of your hair. Do this until your bottom layer is perfectly straight. Unclip the top portion of your hair and continue to straighten. For a wavy look: Place large, hot rollers throughout all of your hair. Leave the rollers in your hair for five minutes for wavy hair, 15 minutes for large curls. Take a rat tail comb and gently rat the hair at the top, back of your head. You can do this by lifting a small section of hair at the crown of the head. Start with the comb at the top of the section and comb through the section. Do this with a section of hair just below the section ratted. Comb the hair down, only slightly as to not flatten the hair. Use the end of the rat tail to divide your hair in half (just above the ears). Pull these two sections of hair to middle, back of your head. Use a small hair tie in the color of your hair to secure.

Dampen your hair slightly using a spray bottle filled with water. Comb through your hair and part it on the side it is normally parted on. Pull your hair down over your ears, like you are going to put your hair into a low ponytail. Hold your hair with your non-dominant hand. With your dominant hand, twist your hair tightly. Holding the middle of the "bun," wrap the hair around itself to form a bun. Put a hair tie over the bun to secure. Place a bobby pin at the top, bottom and sides of the bun to ensure that the bun stays in place all day. Add a little hairspray for extra hold.

Wash your hair with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Blow dry your hair at the roots first to prevent fly-a-ways. Section your hair off into several different sections. Use a large, round hair brush to pull through each section as you dry it. Do this until all of the hair is completely dry. Place hot rollers throughout your entire head. Keep the rollers in for five minutes. Take the rollers out and add a little bit of hairspray to hold the hair. Flip your head upside down and tousle your hair. Pick up your head and use your fingers to smooth the hair.
