Unique Hairdos for Quinceaneras
Like Sweet Sixteens, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and Communions, the Quinceanera marks a special passage in a girl's time of growing up. Taking place around the age of 15, the Quinceanera is a festival of growing into womanhood in which the Quinceanera girl takes center stage but all aspects of family life are involved. Parents are honored by a special ceremony, the girls' friends have intricate dances and, of course, pretty dresses, cool decorations and unique hairstyles are always of utmost importance.

Flower Updo
-
Instead of just pinning up your hair, accessorize it. A flower updo may be created easily with a few simple steps. Working with your hair dry, use pins and a comb to make ponytails and work your hair into rolls of curls, sectioned throughout your head. Once the curls are pinned, place small flowers (fresh or dried) into the curls in a pretty design. You can match the color of the flowers to your dress or the party's theme. Other ideas are to pin thin strands of beads or strips of lace around the curls in your hair.
Fake a Short Bob
-
If you love your long hair and don't want to commit to a long-term cut, amaze your friends with a unique faux bob. This easy hairstyle involves pinning the long length of your hair underneath to give the look of a much shorter style. Just use a bit of shine serum and apply to the hair, then fold the top part of your hair (the length from ear to ear) over your forehead (it will get into your eyes so clear a space so you can see). Take the remaining portion of your lower hair and with bobby pins, fold up the hair and secure it. Repeat for all the hair, then brush your top hair back down. Using more pins, wrap your hair under the layer you've pinned already and secure. Spray with hairspray to hold. For a unique look, pull one or two of the long strands out of the pinned back section and leave framing your face; it will look like you have a small amount of very long hair while the rest is much shorter.

Loose Braid
-
The Quinceanera girls will clamor around her to figure out how she found a headband that matches her hair perfectly. Actually, it's a simple process called the loose braid, used with the party girl's own hair. All that's required is to blow dry hair as straight as possible and part in the center. A section of hair from each part (about 1 inch) is kept separate while the rest of the hair is gathered in a loose ponytail to keep out of the way. Take each of the sections and braid them (tight for a polished look, loose for a casual look), then loop each one across the head towards the opposite ear. Pin with a bobby pin or jeweled clasp. Free the ponytail and fluff out the hair.
