Customized Notebook
-
According to the 1866 sacred text, "Duncan's Masonic Ritual and Monitor," the official symbolic color of the past master is purple. Show your appreciation and respect for the past master by providing him a place to record his thoughts, sermon notes, lesson plans or simply journal his feelings from the day.
Create a customized notebook with a picture of the master or his lodge, perhaps taken on a retreat or special occasion while members were in their robes. The cover of the notebook may also be designed with a purple theme, including various shades of the color to match the robe or designs. Add the past master's name to the cover of the notebook and a special message, such as a meaningful line of text.
Jeweled Ring
-
There are different jewels associated with the levels of Masonry, all the way from junior warden up through worshipful master. Even the organist and stewards have symbolic jewelry. Once a family member or friend has achieved the post of past master, celebrate the special time with the official jewels of the level in a design called the "blazing sun with compasses."
Only those who have reached each level are permitted to wear the jewels of the level. A variety of past master rings are available, including solid black, hollow black and gold, all featuring the sun and compass design.

Books

While the gift recipient may have achieved the honor of past master, chances are he will remain deeply involved with the Lodge. Indulge the past master with books to allow him to continue his studies. A large selection is available, including books that explore numerology, rituals from a centuries-old past master and Freemasonry history.
Or, if over time, the past master's Masonic Bible has degraded, purchase a new copy complete with an attractive cloth book cover or engraved name plate. Masonic literature is available from many online retailers.
