Ultralight flying clubs in upstate New York are plentiful ranging from small community clubs to various chapters of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). Flying ultralights is quite attractive to sport pilots since the weather in the spring and summer typically offers light winds and beautiful scenery.

Additionally, the club operates a juvenile program focused on the education of teenage flyers.

    • Light Aircraft Flyers (LAF) 1017 is part of the EAA community and as such offers a range of services and educational opportunities beyond the typical club. The LAF provides construction for experimental light aircraft and a flight advisor who helps other club members with various ultralight or sports flying safety needs.

    Rochester Experimental Aircraft Association
