Scavenger Hunt
-
A scavenger hunt is a great game for a boy's birthday party and keeps the attendees occupied for an extended period of time. Before the party, create a list of 15 to 20 items that are somewhat easy to locate; don't make them too simple. On the day of the party, divide the boys into small teams and give each team a list. Give them a set period of time to find all of the items on the list. The first team to complete the hunt is the winner and each member receives a prize. You can even have prizes for the first, second and third place winners if you have enough teams.
Marshmallow Game
-
Boys will love the gross-out factor on this silly and simple game. To play, have each boy put three marshmallows in his mouth. Next, instruct the boys to say 'chubby bunny.' Give another marshmallow to each boy who clearly says the words. Repeat the process and any boy who cannot say the phrase clearly is out. Give a prize to the last boy who can stuff the most marshmallows in his mouth and still say the words.

Water Balloon Tag
-
This is a great game for a summertime boy birthday party. To play, fill balloons with water and secure the end; the actual number of water balloons is up to you. Next, instruct the boys to throw the water balloons at each other. It's a good idea to instruct them to aim the balloons at the midsection and legs and avoid the face. A player is out once a water balloon hits him.
This game continues until there's only one boy left. That boy wins a prize for being the 'water balloon champion'.
Egg and Spoon Race
-
Boys will definitely crack up during this game. The egg and spoon race can be played both indoors and outdoors and requires boys to use their naturally athletic ability and concentration in order to win. To start, set up a racetrack. Ideally, this track should include obstacles that the boy must get past successfully to advance.
To play the game, give each boy a spoon with an egg on it. Start the race with all of the boys together once everyone is ready. The boy who makes it through fastest with an intact egg is the winner.

As a pediatric RN I was very sad to see the 'chubby bunny' marshmallow game promoted here. It has been known to cause deaths by choking. Please educate your children about this. Marshmallows can easily slide down the throat blocking the airway in addition children have a smaller airway and aren't always aware of how to handle a goey marshmallow sliding down their throat when their mouth is packed full. This is not an overly protective warning because deaths have happened! Please don't let the next one be your childs!
