Great Teacher Appreciation Gifts
Teachers are with students almost every day, with the responsibilities of educating, disciplining and caring for each pupil. In many ways, teachers take on a parental role during school hours. Teachers need to be appreciated. A gift is one way to tell a teacher she is special and making a positive difference in the life of her students. Include a note or greeting card with a gift to explain how much your teacher is appreciated.

Gift Cards
-
If you know your teacher's hobbies or special interests, get him a related gift card. If she likes coffee, get her a gift card to a popular coffee shop. If you're not sure what she likes, buy a generic gift card that can be widely used, such as a gas gift card, a gift card to an online store or to a restaurant. Gift cards are an inexpensive way to make a good impression.
Food Items
-
Food and beverage items are popular teacher appreciation gifts. You can give boxed chocolates, a pound of coffee or a box of tea to the teacher. You can spend between $10 and $20 and make a gift basket filled with food. Include crackers, cheese, small chocolates, packaged meats and food items. If there's a specific candy or gum your teacher prefers, put it in the food gift basket, cover it in plastic wrap and tie it off with a bow.

Student Art
-
Have each student create a picture that represents appreciation for the teacher. At some point, you'll need to get the teacher out of the classroom, so the students can complete the task. Have each student write a word of thanks on the back of the art piece. You can place each picture or note in a bound book using staples or yarn to attach the binding. You can also frame each paper and hang it on the wall of the classroom the day you're giving the gift. Have students read aloud the note on the back of their individual picture.
