List of Christian Colleges in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is well known for its large universities like Pennsylvania State University, the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to its large public schools, Pennsylvania is home to hundreds of smaller colleges and universities, many of which are sponsored by Christian religious denominations like the Roman Catholic, United Methodist, Baptist and Presbyterian churches.

  1. Villanova University

    • Founded in 1842 by the Order of St. Augustine of the Roman Catholic church, Villanova is home to around 7,100 undergraduate students. Its suburban campus is only 11 miles northwest of Philadelphia. For undergraduates, the university offers over 50 liberal arts majors, eight business majors, five engineering degrees and a school of nursing. The school also offers 14 combined programs that admit students as undergraduates and allow them to obtain both a bachelor's and a master's before their final graduation. Tuition and fees for the 2009-2010 school year at Villanova were $38,305.

    Baptist Bible College & Seminary

    • Baptist Bible College & Seminary is located in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania approximately eight miles north of Scranton. The Baptist-affiliated school opened in 1952 and has only 550 undergraduate students. Undergraduate programs include business administration, chaplain ministries, drama, writing, counseling and teaching as well as pre-seminary education for prospective pastors. The tuition and fees for the 2009-2010 school year were $16,620.

    Geneva College

    • Located in Beaver Falls, Geeva College is approximately 40 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. Affiliated with the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Geneva has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,300 students. Academic programs for undergraduates include 10 degrees in humanities-related fields, five degrees in Christian missions and ministry, six degrees in natural and computer sciences, five degrees in education, and degrees in business and accounting, For the 2009-2010 school year, one year's tuition at Geneva cost $21,400.

    Wilson College

    • A women's college affiliated with the United Presbyterian Church, Wilson College was founded in 1869. Located in the south-central portion of the state in the town of Chambersburg, the college is around 58 miles southwest of the state capital of Harrisburg. Undergraduate enrollment at Wilson is around 700 students. The university offers a variety of majors, such as agricultural science, education, foreign languages, literature, mathematics, biology, chemistry, religious studies, art and business. Tuition and fees for the 2009-2010 school year was $26,930.

    Albright College

    • Established in 1956 by the United Methodist Church, Albright College is home to 2,200 undergraduate students. The college is in the suburban setting of Reading, which is about 60 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Degree programs range from creative fields like art, fashion and theater to social sciences like sociology, economics and psychology to business and natural scientific areas of specialty. The cost of tuition and fees for one year of study at Albright were $31,600 for the 2009-2010 school year.
