Hebrew Teacher Gifts
Whether it is Hanukkah, Rosh Hashana, Passover or graduation, when it comes time to select a gift for your child's Hebrew school teacher, consider thinking outside the box of the usual Star of David mugs, T-shirts or bookmarks. Choosing a gift that is unique and tailored to the teacher will make your child stand out from the others in the present pile and will create a lasting memory and make the teacher feel appreciated.

Cookies
-
Although teachers may be used to receiving the typical snack of apples and honey from their students, treat them to something a little sweeter with a cookie bouquet, which is sure to stand out from anything available from the school cafeteria. Cookie bouquets are designed with sugar cookies cut to the shape of Stars of David and themed to Jewish holidays, such as dreidels, menorahs and presents for Hanukkah. A special message may also be iced onto a cookie with the teacher's name, Hebrew school and student's name. Cookie bouquets are available with one to twelve cookies and come attractively wrapped. Note that cookie bouquets are not Kosher.
Notebook
-
Provide your teacher a special place to jot down Bible notes, lesson plans, seating arrangements or journal thoughts with a custom notebook. Upload a photo of your child or a class picture, which can be printed on the notebook's cover. You can add the teacher's name and class subject or a particular message. Most text/font software does not support Hebrew letters, but if you have design software, Hebrew passages may be uploaded as a graphic. The notebook covers can also sport stock artwork, including Hebrew themes such as Stars of David or classroom images such as building blocks, crayons and school buses. The inside of the notebook may be personalized as well, with a choice of ruled or blank pages.

Menorah
-
While most Hebrew school teachers will already be in the possession of a menorah--the nine-pronged candle holder Jews light to celebrate the eight nights of Hanukkah--consider gifting your teacher a menorah that truly shows you've noticed some of her hobbies. A sports may appreciate a sports menorah, featuring eight nights of candle lighting supported by sports balls such as baseballs, basketballs and a soccer ball. An animal lover might enjoy a menorah shaped like her favorite pet or Noah's Ark. There are even menorahs featuring cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh. The menorah may be used in-classroom for discussion of the holidays.
