The Side Effects of Tribulus Synergy

Save

Tribulus synergy is marketed as a male sexual health product that will improve stamina, overall strength and sexual power and lower the possibility of premature ejaculation. The main ingredient is tribulus terrestis, an herb that was used by the Chinese for centuries to promote sexual healing. Tribulus terrestis was also used for nonsexual healing purposes such as the treatment of urinary tract infections, kidney stones, headaches, dizziness and diabetes.

Tribulus synergy is also used by weight lifters as a nutritional supplement to aid in building muscle and strength. Studies of tribulus terrestris have shown that it boosts the production of testosterone up to 50 percent when taken by males with no nutritional imbalance.

Effects on Body Mass

  • In addition to the sexual effects, tribulus synergy is also taken as an off-label weight lifting supplement. Tribulus has been shown to increase testosterone by up to 50 percent and muscle mass by up to 20 percent. Although it is widely advertised as a natural herbal product that has no negative side effects, users have reported that tribulus synergy also increases the production of estrogen (and other growth hormones) in the body. Other negative side effects reported include skin acne, especially on the back, and increased breast size in males. Certain users have reported taking estrogen blockers to cut down on the negative side effects.

Mental Side Effects

  • One of the mental effects of tribulus synergy is increased sex drive and increased energy. The majority of users report a positive mood when taking the tablets, but a small percentage of users report increased anxiety and jittery sensations.

Long-term Effects

  • When tribulus synergy is taken for more than six weeks without a break, the body can produce an increase of luteinizing hormones (LH). These hormones aid in the production of testosterone, but if the use of tribulus is not cycled (breaks in between the use of the product), then the amounts of LH can be produced in dangerous levels.
