Bulletin Board Sets
-
Classroom decoration begins with the bulletin board. Bulletin boards can be used to enhance the learning process by serving as reminders of important information taught in class or they can be used to post rules, announcements, or other relevant information. Bulletin board themes tend to change with the seasons. Students returning to school in the fall are often welcomed by a board with autumn colors and pictures. As the school year progresses, these change with the seasons or the holidays. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas all tend to be popular bulletin board inspirations. While you can certainly use your own decorations or artwork to design your bulletin board, it may be best to shop around for a bulletin board set that conveys the theme or message that you want. There are a number of these available through teacher and classroom supply stores and online sites.
Charts
-
Like bulletin boards, charts can reinforce what has already been learned. Whether the subject is English, math, or science, charts provide an excellent opportunity to teach your students about comparative relationships. Many charts used in math, for example, will show the comparative relationship between certain sets of numbers. Any number times the number one, will always equal that number. A student would easily be able to look at such a chart and see this. Charts come in all shapes and sizes and with all forms of content. Strategically placing charts in a location that can be easily read by students from where they are sitting will enhance the learning process.

Posters
-
Posters can be miniature charts or just decorative in nature. English posters might include pictures of famous writers like Shakespeare. Science posters might include Albert Einstein or a picture of a butterfly. With posters, the possibilities are limitless. They can be used for educational purposes or to simply enhance the theme that you have established for your classroom. Posters make great accents to any theme if used correctly, and they are an inexpensive way to decorate the classroom.
Student Artwork
-
Student artwork is another great decorative item to have on display in your classroom. Artwork created by your students related to subject matter studied in class can provide the student with a sense of accomplishment and also give them a feeling of ownership in the class when displayed by the teacher. This goes far towards creating that positive ambiance needed for good learning.
